In my HIT272 Health Information Practicum course, I had the opportunity to work at Orchard Park Post Acute Rehab in the medical records department.  I created both a webpage and a PowerPoint presentation to outline and describe the experiences I had while I was there.

In February of 2015 I wrote a research paper titled Genetic Testing, Privacy, Disclosure and the Law addressing the issues that relate to genetic testing and the controversy that surround it. To open and view paper, click on the title page link

For my HIT 141 course taken in April 2015, I wrote a research paper addressing Health Information Exchange, the history, benefits, challenges, and how those challenges are being faced. To open and view paper, click on the title page link.

This is an accompanying PowerPoint presentation summarizing my paper on Health Information Exchange.  To view please click on the title page link.

My course project in my HIT 226 Data Applications & Healthcare Quality was to put together a memo addressing compliance analysis, observations, and recommendations for General Hospital.  We were given data with which to base our analysis on.  In my memo I chose to give my analysis first with all of my charts referenced in an appendix. To view MEMO and accompanying graphs and charts click on the graphic.

Since I was a DeVry online student, my HIT170 practicum course was done in a virtual environment.  This PowerPoint presentation covers what I learned during those 8 weeks, as though I were placed in an actual hospital. The slideshow version is accompanied by a voice recording of the presentation.  Please click on the title page to view the presentation.
