I worked for just over a year at Air Medical Resource Group as a Revenue Cycle Specialist, now called Guardian Flight, LLC. My duties included, but not limited to the following:

Reviewing and abstracting the narratives for the emergent air transports they provided.

Assigning ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, using the proper coding guidelines.

Meeting monthly deadlines for completing all flights for each month.

Entering patient demographics and insurance information.

Verifying insurance, and sending out retro-authorizations if needed.

Communicating with the flight crews if there are problems with the documentation.

Training new employees

Helping audit and review Medicare and Medicaid claims to make sure they are accurate before billing out.

Educating myself about medical conditions so that I can properly code to the higher level of specificity.

Anything else that my supervisor needed done, I was happy to help with whatever was asked of me.

I was very sorry to leave this position, as it was a good fit for me and I really enjoyed the work. I had to leave due to my husband accepting a job offer in Virginia.
